The McKinney City Council announced May 3 two finalists have been selected for the city manager position.

The finalists, Paul Grimes and Mark McDaniel, will be on hand during a meet-and-greet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on May 10 at the Sheraton McKinney, 1900 Gateway Blvd.

Grimes is the current village manager for Orland Park, Illinois, a position he has held since 2008. He is the former director of administration in Cranston, Rhode Island, and has previous roles in health care and economic development. Grimes has a master's degree in public affairs from Indiana University, and a bachelor's degree in history and political science from Purdue University.

McDaniel is the current assistant city manager for the city of Dallas, a position he has held since 2014. He has previously served as city manager and deputy city manager for the city of Tyler and as assistant city manager for the city of Corpus Christi. McDaniel has a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of North Texas.
