Prescription drugs City will host drug take-back event for unwanted prescription medication.[/caption] The city of McKinney is again partnering with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office to participate in the national Drug Enforcement Administration’s Drug Take-Back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 26 The event takes place at the city's Environmental Services Building, 1550 S. College St. Building D. City officials said the event provides a free opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs. To participate, medications should be left in their original containers and any identifying information should be removed from the prescription label. Loose medication can also be placed directly in the disposal box. The event provides an anonymous opportunity to dispose of unwanted medications and learn about potential dangers associated with possible prescription drug addiction. There will be signs at the intersections of College Street at Eldorado and Wilson Creek parkways to help guide participants to the location. Drivers will dispose of medications to a uniformed officer and circle out of the parking lot.
