The Andy App, a McKinney-based platform specializing in property tax advocacy for Texas homeowners, has found a new investor in the McKinney Economic Development Corp.

The MEDC is investing in the app through its Innovation Fund, which offers grants to startup companies in McKinney. The Andy App was founded by McKinney resident Michael Reeves and uses artificial intelligence to assist homeowners in evaluating their assessed property values, according to a news release.
Michael Kowski, MEDC president and CEO, said in a statement that the app was “exactly the kind of innovation” the corporation was “proud to support” through the Innovation Fund.
“Reeves and his team are taking a complex, often frustrating process and making it simple, accessible, and actionable for everyday homeowners,” Kowski said. “This is a strong example of how technology can directly improve quality of life for residents while creating scalable business growth right here in McKinney.”
A closer look
Homeowners can upload property details, document imperfections and initiate a protest directly from their phone through The Andy App. The app is currently live across Texas with plans to expand to additional states in the future, according to the news release.
“I’ve spent years in the property tax space, and one thing became clear—homeowners are often overpaying simply because they don’t know how to fight back,” Reeves said in a statement. “We built Andy to change that. With just a few taps, homeowners can take control of their property taxes, backed by data, technology, and a team working on their behalf.”

The MEDC created the Innovation Fund in 2020 to offer grants to technology startups. The fund’s primary goal is to encourage companies to open in or relocate to McKinney while leading to job growth.
Grant types offered by the Innovation Fund include:
- Growth: a grant of up to $200,000 to support early-stage technology startups
- Expansion: a grant of up to $500,000 for startups seeing rapid growth
- Recruitment: a grant of up to $500,000 for startups that relocate their primary headquarters facilities to McKinney
The MEDC is funded by a half-cent city sales tax approved by McKinney voters in 1993. Funding is used to offer business incentives like the Innovation Fund.
