Preston joined Community Impact in May 2024 as an intern covering the DFW metro. He is pursuing a degree in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and is set to graduate in May 2026 . Prior to CI, Preston held several roles at Mav Media, including anchor, camera operator, and floor manager. He also served as a videographer and photojournalist at The Shorthorn Media. During his time at UT Austin, he held the position of digital marketing officer with Phi Chi Theta.
