The 118,000-square-foot store, located at 8700 Eldorado Parkway near Custer Road, will feature a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru, a fuel station with a car wash and a True Texas BBQ restaurant, H-E-B’s in-store barbecue eatery.
The store will also have an extensive beer and wine selection, a deli, a bakery and tortilleria, and live cooking demonstrations at its Cooking Connections section, according to its website. The McKinney location will offer curbside service as well, according to a news release.
The McKinney store was announced in mid-2021, and construction for the project began in March 2022. Improvements were also made to adjacent roadways ahead of the McKinney store’s opening.
The first Dallas-Fort Worth-area H-E-B opened in Frisco in September, followed by the opening of the Plano store in November. Other DFW-area H-E-B stores in the works include locations in Allen, Alliance and Mansfield as well as a second Frisco store.
The San Antonio-based company opened its first store in Kerrville, Texas, in 1905, and now has over 420 stores across Texas and Mexico, according to its website.
