Grocery store chain H-E-B announced June 8 that the company plans to open a store in McKinney.

The store is expected to open in spring 2023, according to the announcement. The McKinney store will be located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Custer Road and Eldorado Parkway, according to the release.

“H-E-B is excited to announce plans to open an H-E-B store in McKinney, continuing its expansion in the DFW metroplex,” an H-E-B news release reads. “The store, which is expected to open in spring 2023, builds on the company’s longstanding presence in the area and reinforces its commitment to serve more customers in this dynamic and growing part of Texas.”

More details about the new store will be shared at the store’s groundbreaking, which is projected for later this year.

McKinney Mayor George Fuller shared a written statement in light of the company’s announcement.

“Today is an exciting day for our community as we announce the upcoming arrival of this legendary store to the city of McKinney. H-E-B is famous for its wildly committed fanbase and unwavering commitment to the communities they serve,” Fuller said. “We are proud to be part of the growing H-E-B family in Texas and give our residents more options to keep their dollars local.”

The McKinney store will join two stores located in Frisco and Plano, both of which are set to open in fall 2022.
