Here are five businesses that are coming soon or are now open on the Historic Downtown McKinney square.
Collective Coffee, which will be located at 301 W. Louisiana St., Unit 102, is a new concept by co-owners Patrick McCarthy, Tim Cook and Alyssa Cook. The coffee shop will serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas and seasonal drinks such as refreshers as well as breakfast and snack items with gluten-free options. The coffee shop is intended to serve as a welcoming, multipurpose space for anyone looking to work, study, connect with others and more, Tim Cook said. www.collectivedowntown.com
Apple Blvd Boutique is opening its second retail store location in Historic Downtown McKinney. The women’s clothing brand, started by couple Katie and Johnny Apple, offers tops, dresses, outerwear, accessories and more. The store, located at 211 E. Taste of Chicago recently opened in downtown McKinney. The restaurant, located at 216 W. Virginia St., Ste. 102, serves Chicago-style hot dogs, sandwiches, salads, deep-dish pizza, pasta and more. The restaurant also offers a full bar and an outdoor patio. 972-372-0685. www.tasteofchicagotx.com
The Horse’s Axe is opening in downtown McKinney at 212 E. Louisiana St. in early 2023, according to Marketing Director Erica Urban. The Horse’s Axe facility offers ax throwing, arcade and bar games, and a selection of drinks. Guests can purchase and take home their own ax as well as getting their axes custom engraved. 469-305-2830. www.horsesaxe.com
Wake and Bakery Coffee is set to open its doors during late January-early February at 109 N. Kentucky St. in McKinney. The downtown shop will offer high-end coffee as well as baked goods, such as pastries and muffins. Wake and Bakery Coffee guests will also have the option of infusing their drink or food order with CBD or delta-8.
