McKinney native Jesse Holt has been in the motorcycle business for about 21 years. Holt said he left work at Harley-Davidson in June 2013 to open Thunderchief Harley Garage, a motorcycle shop, in his garage in Princeton.

Nearly four years later, Holt finds himself with two other employees and a storefront at 411 E. Erwin Ave., McKinney. The McKinney location opened May 5.

"[I] Pretty much just hung out out [in Propser] and did word of mouth for the last four years then we decided to go to the next level and open this place," Holt said.

As Harley-Davidson level five Masters of Service Techonolgy, the highest level attainable, Holt and technician Jeff McLain can service, repair, customize and restore all years and models of Harley-Davidson. Holt and McLain also service other American and custom motorcycles.

"We'll do anything if it's a Harley-Davidson," Holt said. "I mean, we'll build you one from the ground up. We do custom fabrication. We'll build you a motorcycle or we'll check the tire pressure on the one you've got and everything in between."

In addition to the services offered, Thunderchief also sells retail parts, gear and motorcycles.
