The McKinney Performing Art Center's Courtroom Theater has three nights planned to help residents beat the heat. The series of concerts includes Madi Davis, Sawyer Fredericks (Season 8 winner of 'The Voice') and Texas songwriter Radney Foster.
Madi Davis, 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 29
McKinney singer-songwriter Madi Davis ended her run on NBC’s 'The Voice' as a Top 6 semi-finalist. She sang classics like 'Big Girls Don't Cry,' 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun,' and 'A Case of You' by Joni Mitchell. Davis went to work on an original, full-length album and her new release, 'Above the Waves,' contains songs that reflect her experiences on and off the show.
Sawyer Fredericks, 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18
Sawyer Fredericks competed on the eighth season of 'The Voice.' As part of “Team Pharrell,” the 16-year-old emerged as the youngest victor in the show’s history. He also made ‘The Voice’ history, becoming the first artist to land 14 songs in the iTunes Overall Top 200 Songs Chart in one week. Fredericks' digital sales exceeded 1 million cumulative singles, making him one of the show’s most successful artists.
Radney Foster, 8 p.m. Aug. 23
For 30 years, Texas singer-songwriter Radney Foster has thrived as a songwriter, recording artist, live performer and producer. As his voice has deepened and grown richer, so has his focus.
