This story was updated after a candidate withdrew their application.

Filing began Jan. 15 for candidates who want to campaign for a spot on the Lewisville ISD board of trustees.

On May 2, voters will get to cast a ballot to fill Places 6 and 7 on the board.

As of the first day of filing, incumbents Kristi Hassett and Tracy Scott Miller filed for re-election for Places 6 and 7, respectively. Both Hassett and Miller were re-elected to serve their second terms in 2017. Miller is currently the vice president of the board.

H. Denise Wooten filed Feb. 14 to run for the Place 6 seat on the Lewisville ISD board of trustees. However, Wooten's application has since been withdrawn.

Early voting will happen April 20-28. Residents must be registered to vote by April 2 to participate in the election. The application period for candidates to file to run ended Feb. 14.
