Charlotte Wilcox to remain Highland Village mayor; runoff election scheduled for Place 2


With all precincts reporting, Highland Village Mayor Charlotte Wilcox has won the race for Mayor, defeating opponent Eric Aplis.

Wilcox received 88.7 percent, or 903, of the votes, and Aplis received 11.30 percent, or 115 votes.

There will be a runoff election on June 16 between Jon Kixmiller and Jim Archibald for Place 2 as no candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes.

Kixmiller received the most votes with 45.44 percent or 428 votes. Archibald gathered 18.68 percent or 176 votes. Dave Shilling received 17.62 percent, M. David True received 10.93 percent and Jason Edwards received 7.32 percent.

Results are unofficial until canvassed. Canvassing of the official results will take place at the May 14 council meeting.
