The Government Finance Officers Association awarded the Denton County Transportation Authority the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.

The award was presented for DCTA’s fiscal year 2022 budget document. This is DCTA's 16th year receiving the award, according to a DCTA news release.

“I’m proud of our team’s dedication to transparency and financial stewardship,” said Marisa Perry, DCTA chief financial officer/vice president of finance, said in the release.

The GFOA established the award in 1984 to encourage state and local governments to prepare budget documents to the highest quality, according to the release.

“This award represents a significant achievement for DCTA as it reflects our commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting,” DCTA Senior Budget Manager Amanda Riddle said in the release.

More than 1,7000 entities participated in the budget award program. To earn recognition, budget documents must meet program criteria and excel as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communication tool, according to the release.
