Public transit users in Denton County can ride for free on Election Day under a program intended to help voters get to the polls.

The Denton County Transportation Authority will allow free rides on Nov. 3 on its A-train commuter rail, Connect Bus system, Lewisville Lakeway pickup program and select other services in the city of Denton.

The transit agency will not require riders to prove where they're headed or whether they are registered to vote in order to take advantage of the free rides, according to an Oct. 14 news release.

Denton County voters can still cast ballots at early voting locations through Oct. 30. After that, they will have to vote Nov. 3 at one of the county’s Election Day locations.
