Since late 2017 contractors have been working on installing a pedestrian bridge that will connect Doubletree Ranch Park in Highland Village to the Denton County Transportation Authority’s Highland Village/Lewisville Lake A-train station, which is located at 2998 N. Stemmons Freeway, Lewisville.
The bridge is being constructed over Copperas Branch Lake to allow connectivity to the city of Lewisville’s trail system.
Highland Village city staff said the connection is a vital link for the community that will be used for travel, exercise and gaining access to city events.
The southern section south of the pond has been closed to the public due to the construction of the pedestrian trail.
The connection, which pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use, is anticipated to be completed by September.
Doubletree Ranch Park is located at 310 N. Highland Village Road. The 36.38-acre park is city-owned and -maintained.
