Children's Advocacy Center for Denton County announced April 3 that Aly Raisman, two-time team captain of the gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic gymnastics team, will be the keynote speaker of the Champion for Children Breakfast.
The breakfast will be held Nov. 1 at University of North Texas-Gateway Center, 801 N. Texas Blvd., Denton.
“As an organization, we are honored to be welcoming Aly Raisman to Denton County," CACDC CEO Kristen Howell said. “Aly is such an inspiration to the children we see in our offices every day. Her courage and determination—not only in following her Olympic dreams but in surviving child abuse—make her a hero. “
CACDC is a nonprofit organization that coordinates the investigation of child abuse in a collaborative, child-friendly environment. CACDC also provides child abuse prevention education throughout the community to teach adults who work with children how to recognize and report child abuse.
