Here are five new restaurants that opened in the Lewisville, Flower Mound and Highland Village area this month.

  1. Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt on Nov. 2 opened a new location at 2717 Cross Timbers Road in Flower Mound that serves a variety of frozen treats. It is located near the intersection of Cross Timbers and Long Prairie roads. In addition to a variety of ice cream flavors, the shop serves yogurt, sherbet and flavored ices. The location is open from noon-9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from noon-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. 469-763-3094. ​​http://handelsicecream.com/

  2. Amy’s Donuts opened the first week of November at 1081 W. Main St., Ste. 105, Lewisville. Doughnuts are made fresh daily in the shop. It offers a variety of traditional, cake, frosted and filled doughnuts, and has gourmet donut flavors including Over the Rainbow, creme brulee, maple bacon jalapeno, Cookie Monster, strawberry cheesecake and more.   3. Sfereco opened Nov. 8 as the first of five restaurants to be housed at the River Walk development in Flower Mound. The restaurant, located at 4120 River Walk Drive, Flower Mound, offers a variety of pizzas and meatball dishes, and has a full bar. The location is open from 4-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 4-11 p.m. Friday and Sunday. 469-993-1201. www.sfereco.com

  4. Hugo’s Lost Colony opened Nov. 15 at 2420 Justin Road, Highland Village. The restaurant serves Tex-Mex cuisine. The location is open for brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for lunch and dinner daily. 469-293-0015. www.hugoslostcolony.com/

  5. New York Pizza & Pints opened Nov. 17 at its newest location at 2717 Cross Timbers Road, Ste. 410, Flower Mound. The pizza restaurant offers New York-style crust and Sicilian marinara sauce, and it is known for its giant 24-inch pizzas called Piezillas. It offers a variety of craft beers and growlers to-go.
