Crews will be spraying for mosquitoes in Flower Mound after a sample in the 2600 block fo College Parkway tested positive for West Nile virus, according to the town's Environmental Health Services Division.

Spraying will be done in a half-mile radius of the site between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sept. 14 through Sept. 16. Click here to view a map. Residents in the area will be alerted through the town's community notification call system, and signs will be posted at major intersections, according to a news release.

This is the second positive test of a mosquito sample in Flower Mound this season, according to a news release.

Residents are advised to minimize exposure to spraying and stay indoors if possible, according to the release. Windows should be closed and exposed fruits or vegetables should be washed before eating, the release stated. If the spray comes in contact with a person's skin, people are advised to rinse with soap and water. Any eye contact should be treated by rinsing eyes with water or saline solution, the release stated.
