The Lewisville City Council approved variances for a proposed hotel to be located at 102 West Main Street.

The variances allow for a minimum guest room size of 200 square feet in lieu of the required 400 square feet and allow an on-call staff member in lieu of an on-site staff member 24 hours a day, according to the June 6 agenda item.

The property at 102 West Main Street houses a real estate office and retail shop. The applicant, Fenyaw Hospitality LLC, is looking to convert the building to a boutique hotel with eight guest rooms, according to the agenda.

The Old Town Design Review Committee is scheduled to review the proposed exterior improvements to the building on June 13.
