Lewisville voters in November will be asked to decide whether to approve a $95 million bond measure to fund construction of a new public safety complex for police, fire and emergency medical services.

City Council voted 4-0 on Aug. 16 to call the election for Nov. 2. Early voting will be Oct. 18-29.

The facility would be built at the same location as the existing police and fire stations on the northwest corner of West Main Street and North Valley Parkway.

The project would include new headquarters for police and fire as well as an emergency operations center and a new parking structure to protect emergency vehicles from the Texas weather.

City officials have said the approval of the bond measure would not affect the city's property tax rate.
