The town of Flower Mound announced fire Chief Eric Greaser's retirement effective July 2.

Greaser had been chief over the department since April 2014. He previously served as deputy fire chief in the Coppell Fire Department.

According to the town, an outside search firm will help with the search for a new fire chief, and officials expect the process to take about two or three months. Until a replacement is hired, police Chief Andy Kancel will serve as acting fire chief, according to a town spokesperson.
