Flower Mound Town Manager Jimmy Stathatos announced Aug. 11 that he has accepted a position as city manager with the city of Bedford.

Stathatos has served with the town since early 2013 and was instrumental in Flower Mound achieving an AAA bond rating, creating a new Senior Center and lowering the tax rate, according to an Aug. 11 release from the Town.

“I sincerely appreciate the opportunity Flower Mound has provided me, as well as the support of the residents, employees, and elected officials,” Stathatos said in the release. “I will always have fond memories of my service to the Town.”

The last day for Stathatos will be Sept. 11.

Flower Mound's Town Council is expected to appoint an interim town manager at an upcoming meeting, according to an Aug. 12 release.

Town Council will meet for a budget workshop Aug. 12 and a regular meeting Aug. 17, during which discussions about the timeline for an interim and replacement town manager may take place, according to spokesperson Molly Fox.
