Now Through Dec. 22: Give art this holiday season

The Gift of Art holiday sale exhibition encourages support for local artists through purchase of their work. Dec. 17, 18, 19, 22, 23: Tour the shops by carriage

Horse-drawn carriage rides will be offered through The Shops at Highland Village, weather permitting. Passengers will be picked up outside of the Nestle Toll House Café. 5-9 p.m. (Dec. 17, 18, 22, 23); 2-6 p.m. (Dec. 19). Free. Dec. 17: Count the birds for survey


The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area invites those age 5 and older to join in the Kid’s Christmas Bird Count, which is the city’s version of the annual survey conducted by the National Audubon Society to provide data on local bird populations. 9-11 a.m. Registration required. $5 per person plus $5 per vehicle entry. Dec. 18: Get help wrapping gifts

Lewisville Public Library provides supplies for this Holiday Gift Wrapping Workshop. At this come-and-go event, guests may use the wrapping paper, gift bags, tags, tape and scissors to wrap their own gifts. There will also be some gift-wrapping tricks and ideas available. Lewisville Grand Theater Will Hearn’s Grand Ol’ Christmas Show featuring Blue Water Highway combines music and comedy sketches into a one-of-a-kind musical variety show.
