Crews will spray for mosquitoes in several Highland Village neighborhoods Sept. 18-20 after a trap in the Gayle Lane area tested positive for West Nile virus, according to a news release.
Areas to be sprayed include Gayle Lane, Highland Hills, Highland Meadows and Highland Shores, the release stated. Click here for a map of the areas to be sprayed.
Spraying will be done in the morning hours and will be concentrated on creeks, drainage culverts and wooded wet areas, the release stated.
Residents are asked to remove any standing water on their property to help reduce the risks from West Nile virus. People are also advised to wear pants and long sleeves when in mosquito-infested areas and use insect repellent containing DEET.
