The first day to file for a place on the May 7 local election ballot is Jan. 19. Here are the seats open on the Lewisville, Highland Village and Flower Mound councils as well as Lewisville ISD.

In Lewisville, Places 4, 5 and 6 on the City Council are up for election, according to the city’s website. Places 4 and 5 are currently being held by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Brandon Jones and Mayor Pro Tem Kristin Green, respectively. The sixth seat is a new council seat created after the city annexed the master-planned community of Castle Hills.

Flower Mound has two Town Council seats up for election–Places 1 and 3. These seats are currently held by Council Member Adam Schiestel and Mayor Pro Tem Ben Bumgarner respectively.

In Highland Village, the mayor’s seat, as well as Place 2, 4 and 6 on the City Council are up for election. The council seats are currently being held by Council Member Jon Kixmiller, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Fleming and Council Member Robert Fiester. The current mayor of Highland Village is Charlotte Wilcox.

Lewisville ISD’s board of trustees also has three seats open for the May election. Places 3, 4 and 5, currently held by Angie Cox, secretary Katherine Sells and Jenny Proznik, are all up for election.


The last day to file for a place on the ballot is Feb. 18, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
