The board appointed a new chief of elementary schools, Marcus 9th Grade Campus principal, Hicks Elementary School principal and Student Success Center principal.
Chief of Elementary Schools
Jaime Clark was appointed as the district’s new chief of elementary schools. She takes over the position from Lori Litchfield, who was named chief schools officer in May.
“I’m thrilled about this new opportunity in my professional career,” Clark said in a district news release. “I’m excited to work with an incredible group of leaders and the elementary schools in our district. I look forward to continuing to serve our students, parents, staff and community.”
Clark most recently served as principal at Castle Hills Elementary School. Clark began her public education career in 2001, when she served as a math teacher and head volleyball coach at Burnet High School, according to the district.
Marcus 9th Grade Campus principal
Jessica True was named the new principal of Marcus 9th Grade Campus principal.
True serves as an assistant principal at Marcus High School, a position she’s held for two years. She takes over for longtime Principal Chantell Upshaw, who was recently named the district’s chief of middle schools.
“I am thrilled and honored to stay with the Marauder family as the new principal at the Marcus Ninth Grade campus,” True said in a district release. “I look forward to serving the great students, staff, families and community while continuing to build a love for learning for the students at Marcus 9.”
Hicks Elementary School principal
Tracy Rehfuss was named the new principal at Hicks Elementary School.
Rehfuss serves as an assistant principal at Hicks, a position she’s held since 2017. Rehfuss is entering her 13th year in education, all of which have been in LISD, according to the district news release.
"I am thrilled and honored to stay with the Timberwolves family as the new principal at Hicks Elementary,” Rehfuss said in the release. “I look forward to continuing to serve the great students, staff, families and community in the role of principal, while continuing to encourage students and staff as they grow and excel.”
Student Success Center principal
Michael Wetchensky was appointed the new principal of the Student Success Center.
Wetchensky serves as an associate principal at the center, a position he has held for five years. He takes over for longtime Principal Shawnda LaRocque, who recently announced her retirement from LISD.
“I am humbled and honored to be named the new principal of the Student Success Center,” Wetchensky said in a district release. “I look forward to serving the students, staff and community and continuing to build a love for learning for the students at the SSC.”
