The Lewisville ISD board of trustees appointed Meredith Whitehouse as the new principal of the STEM Academy at Bridlewood Elementary School.

The appointment was approved 5-0 during a board workshop June 6.

Whitehouse recently served as an assistant principal at Heritage Elementary School, a position she held for three years. She is replacing longtime Bridlewood Principal Robin Block, who recently announced her retirement from LISD, according to a LISD news release.

“I am thrilled and honored to join the Bronco family as the new principal at the LISD STEM Academy at Bridlewood,” Whitehouse said in the release. “I look forward to serving the students, staff, families and community while continuing to build a love for learning for the students at Bridlewood.”

Whitehouse has served at LISD for the past 11 years. She started her education career teaching first grade in Keller ISD.

At LISD, she has taught third and fourth grade at Central and Castle Hills elementary schools before moving to assistant principal at Indian Creek Elementary School.

“Mrs. Whitehouse is a passionate and student-dedicated leader,” Superintendent Lori Rapp said in the release. “I’m confident the students and staff of Bridlewood will continue to thrive under her leadership.”
