The Lewisville ISD board of trustees approved a $9.1 million contract for the Bluebonnet Elementary School 20‐Year Refresh project.

The bid comes from Pogue Construction, according to the March 21 agenda item. The project is funded through the district’s 2017 bond and fits within the project budget.

Work on the elementary school, according to the agenda item, will take place over the next two summers. Bluebonnet Elementary School is located at 2000 Spinks Road, Flower Mound.

LISD voters approved a $737 million bond package referendum, according to the district’s website, with nearly 63% of voters in favor of the bond. The package included a new career and technology center, additional classrooms, and safety and security upgrades across all campuses.

At the Bluebonnet campus, the work is a 20-year refresh and includes updates to anything below the roof, including bathrooms and other finishings, said Randy Fite, the district’s executive director of construction, during a March 7 board work session.

The roof and air conditioning units will not be included because they still have useful life left, Fite said.

“Our goal is when you walk into the building, it's kind of seamless,” he said.
