Lewisville ISD announced May 11 that the district has appointed a new principal for Lewisville High School as well as a new chief financial officer for the district.

Jim Baker was appointed as the new principal of Lewisville High School after working for the district for 16 years. Baker was the assistant principal at Lewisville High School from 2007-2011 and later served as an assistant principal at DeLay Middle School.

The principal position recently opened when current Principal Jeffrey Kajs was named the district’s new chief executive director of student support services.

“Being a part of Lewisville High School is something that has lived in me since the day I began working there in 2007,” Baker said in a district news release. “I am blessed beyond words to return as principal.”

Before Baker worked at Lewisville High School in 2007, he spent three years working as an assistant principal of McKamy Middle School, according to the district.

“Jim Baker is a tremendous leader,” Lewisville ISD Superintendent Kevin Rogers said in the release. “He brings out the best in students and staff, and he embodies the spirit of Farmer Pride. I have no doubt Lewisville High School will continue to thrive with Mr. Baker as principal.”

The district also announced that Mark Youngs will be the district’s new chief financial officer.

Youngs is coming from Keller ISD, where he worked as chief financial officer for the past 13 years, according to the release.

“Mr. Youngs will be an exceptional addition to our district’s leadership team,” Rogers said in the release. “He has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors and is a well-respected leader in the area of school business and finance. Mr. Youngs and his expertise will be a tremendous asset as we continue our record of being good stewards of taxpayer dollars and maintaining the overall financial health of LISD.”
