Denton County Public Health announced April 28 that an additional 13 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed locally, bringing the county’s total to 738.

So far, 358 residents who were diagnosed with the virus have since recovered; 360 cases remain active; and 20 residents have died as a result of the disease, according to officials.

Thirty-three Flower Mound residents, nine Highland Village residents and 61 Lewisville residents have tested positive for the virus.

Flower Mound Mayor Steve Dixon signed an amended disaster declaration April 28 that aligns with Gov. Greg Abbott’s latest plans to reopen various facilities in phases starting May 1.
