Denton County Public Health announced April 17 that an additional 21 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed locally, bringing the county’s total number of cases to 585.

So far, 244 residents who were diagnosed with the virus have since recovered, 326 cases remain active and 15 residents have died due to coronavirus-related reasons, according to public health officials.

Twenty-six Flower Mound residents, eight Highland Village residents and 40 Lewisville residents have tested positive for the virus, according to officials.


Updated 5:05 p.m. April 16

Denton County Public Health announced April 16 that a Flower Mound resident in his 60s has died due to COVID-19, bringing the county’s coronavirus-related death toll to 15.

“As we report the loss of a fifteenth life to COVID-19 in Denton County today, we hope everyone will take a moment to keep our fellow residents affected by this pandemic in your thoughts and prayers,” said Denton County Judge Andy Eads in a statement. “The seriousness of taking precautions cannot be overstated. With community spread endemic in our county, we must take the necessary steps to ensure we do not contribute to the problem.”

An additional 17 coronavirus cases have been confirmed locally, bringing the total number of cases to 564, according to Denton County Public Health. So far, 214 residents who were diagnosed with the coronavirus have since recovered and 335 cases remain active.

Updated 4:55 p.m. April 15

Denton County Public Health announced that 26 additional cases of coronavirus were confirmed locally April 15, bringing the county’s total number of cases to 547.

So far, 207 residents who were diagnosed with the virus have since recovered, 326 cases remain active and 14 residents have died due to the disease.


Twenty-one Flower Mound residents, eight Highland Village residents and 39 Lewisville residents have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to public health officials.

Updated 5:15 p.m. April 14

Denton County Public Health announced April 14 that another Denton County resident has died due to the coronavirus, bringing the county’s total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 14.

The patient, a man over 80 years old, was a resident of Denton Rehabilitation Center, according to public health officials.


Officials also announced that 14 additional cases have been confirmed locally, raising the total number of Denton County cases to 521.

Overall, 189 residents who were diagnosed with the virus have since recovered, and 318 cases remain active.

According to public health officials, 21 Flower Mound residents, seven Highland Village residents and 37 Lewisville residents have tested positive.

Denton County Commissioners Court voted April 14 to amend the county’s stay-at-home executive order, which is in effect through April 30, to allow golfers on golf courses under certain guidelines.

Denton County Public Health announced April 13 that 25 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, bringing the county’s total number of cases to 507.

So far, 182 residents who were diagnosed with the virus have since recovered, and 13 have died. There are 312 active cases, according to officials.

Twenty-one Flower Mound residents, seven Highland Village residents and 37 Lewisville residents have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to public health officials.
