A proposed utility project along East Hudgins Street in Grapevine is expected to begin next month.
Grapevine City Council approved up to $660,000 from the utility enterprise fund during the July 21 meeting. The contract, which is worth $594,264 with a contingency of $65,369, was awarded to Fort Worth-based contractor RUTS Construction.

The overview
The project will include new water and sewer mains along East Hudgins Street between South Dooley Street and South Main Street. Crews will install 1,500 feet of 8-inch water main and 1,500 feet of 8-inch sewer main along the roadway, per city documents.
Following the completion of the utility work, crews will reconstruct East Hudgins Street. The reconstruction is expected to last between four and six weeks.
During the project, no traffic will be able to access the project area, according to city documents.
