Denton County Transportation Authority is updating its fare and service model.

The change comes to better meet transportation needs of the public and encourage multimodal trips in Denton County, according to a DCTA news release.

The goals of the updates are to redesign the fixed routes to better serve riders and configure the GoZone service to better integrate with fixed routes, according to the release.

Fare models will also be assessed, including a flat fare to a distance-based fare and hybrid fare models, according to the release.

Starting April 18, DCTA will host a series of public meetings that will be held in person and virtually in Denton, Lewisville and Highland Village, according to the release. Times and locations of the in-person meetings will be announced once they are scheduled.

Virtual meetings will be held April 25, 29, May 5 and 10.

The meetings will offer a chance for people to speak with DCTA staff members and other attendees to share feedback, according to the release. Feedback will also be taken online at

www.dctafeedback.net and by survey. Public feedback ends May 17.
