The Flower Mound Parks and Recreation Department will offer free Christmas tree recycling from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. now through Jan. 9 at Gerault Park, according to a town news release.

Tree recycling will only be offered to residents and will not be available to commercial Christmas tree businesses. Trees cannot be flocked and must have all decorations removed, according to the release.

Once recycled, trees will be turned into mulch, according to the release. Residents can take mulch and are encouraged to bring their own containers for transportation.

If not recycled, trees can be placed on the curb and will be picked up by Republic Services on regular trash days, according to the release.
