A private company is scheduled to spray for mosquitoes Aug. 3-4 after a mosquito trap around East Hill Park tested positive for West Nile virus, according to a news release from the city of Lewisville.

This is the first positive test this year for the city, which contracts with Vector Disease Control International to regularly check nine sites for the mosquito-borne virus, the release stated.

Crews will do ground-spraying by truck in a half-mile radius of the testing location starting at 9 p.m. each day, weather permitting. The park is located at 1481 E. Hill Park Road adjacent to Lewisville Lake.

Residents are encouraged to report any mosquito complaints to Jason Hunt at 972-219-3776 or email [email protected].
