Flower Mound Town Council voted to send four charter amendments before voters during the May 4 election.

Voters will be deciding if the mayor shall receive a monthly stipend of $300 and if members of Town Council shall receive a monthly stipend of $200. If passed by voters, council would begin receiving compensation June 1, 2019.

A second proposition on the ballot would amend the charter to remove the requirement that all ordinances adopted by the town be published in the town's official newspaper except those ordinances required to be published by law.

A third proposition would remove the requirement that the town budget be filed with various county and state agencies.

A fourth proposition would allow the transfer of funds between departments within the same fund without the requirement of a budget amendment.

The charter requires a regular review at least every five years. The last charter review was in 2016. The next required charter review would be in 2021.

Early voting begins April 22 and ends April 30.
