At the Sept. 17 City Council meeting, members granted a zone change request for 5.371 acres located to the west of Business SH 121 across from Lewisville Elementary School. The request changes the property from general business district, which allows for professional offices, hotels or motels, retail stores, church worship facilities, a bowling alley or similar uses, to estate townhome district. The developer plans to build Park Central Terraces, which will feature 32 single-family detached lots. The residential lots will have a minimum lot width of 30 feet with a minimum lot size of 4,000 square feet. All lots will have a minimum dwelling size of 2,000 square feet. Amenities will include dog waste receptacles, park benches near the parking area, a small open space with a trail and landscaping, and a small open space near mailboxes. Residents will not be allowed on-street parking on McCartt Drive. Residents will have a homeowner’s association that is responsible for landscaping and open space.
