At Monday's Flower Mound Town Council meeting, members approved a bid to Tiseo Paving Company in the amount of $2.06 million for the Yucca and Churchill road projects.

"I've been looking forward to this for a couple of years," Council Member Kevin Bryant said.

The projects consist of reconstructing Yucca Drive from Sagebrush Drive to approximately 700 feet south of Cross Timbers/FM 1171 and extending Churchill Drive approximately 400 feet to connect to Yucca Drive. The project also consists of drainage, water, sidewalk and trail improvements.

Construction is expected to start in October with construction expected to be complete next summer.

Executive Director of Public Works Tiffany Bruce said there will be some disruption on Yucca Drive during construction.

"There will be a traffic issue because it is a two-lane road," she said. "The plan is to work on the northbound lane first on Yucca so traffic will be one way southbound."
