A group of Old Town Lewisville stakeholders was appointed to the Old Town Branding Task Force, which will work with city staff on a unified branding concept that would work with multiple audiences, at the July 16 City Council meeting.

Staff members worked with Amanda Ferguson, former president of the Main and Mill Association, on the selection of individuals to serve on the Old Town Branding Task Force. Ferguson said the current branding for Old Town Lewisville is outdated and not representative of the district.

"Creating a unified brand identity for Old Town Lewisville will be the first steps to building common recognition for our district and enhancing the connection with visitors, residents and others," Ferguson said. "In turn, making Old Town Lewisville a desirable destination and a place to call home."

The task force will be a temporary board and will meet over the next nine to 12 months with the first meeting to be held in August. Staff said the initial meetings will be focused on education related to brand establishment and marketing.

Funding is included in the fiscal year 2018-19 budget to hire a branding consultant to work with the task force.

-Robbie Rehmani, developer of brownstones on Walters Street
