On April 16 Town Council denied a master plan amendment to rezone property located north of Cross Timbers Road and east of Lusk Lane to retail use from estate residential, which would have allowed a CVS Pharmacy to be built.


The site is part of a 24-acre piece property owned by Jan Balekian, who has hosted The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch for 26 years.


The pharmacy would have been located between the property owner’s home and Cross Timbers.


Council Member Don McDaniel voted against the development stating it does not maintain the estate feel that was designed for the area.


Many residents expressed their opposition to the CVS due to the fact that they felt Flower Mound was saturated with chain drugstores.
