United Way of Denton County launched a new online resource June 17 to connect employers with potential employees. The resource is called Denton County Works.

Much like an online job-seeker, Denton County Works connects prospective employees with hiring employers. In addition, the site informs people about local job fairs and listings around Denton County, according to a news release from United Way of Denton County. Job-seekers can also use the webpage to find resume-building tips and information on business attire.

According to the release, data from the 2021 Eviction Program by United Way of Denton County emphasized the need for resources such as the new webpage as nearly 30% of its clients are partially or under employed.

Denton County Works also included a section dedicated to helping job-seekers overcome obstacles such as affordable child care, transportation barriers, and education and training.

"A job search is challenging in any economic climate, and many Denton County households don't always know where to go for advice," United Way of Denton County CEO Gary Henderson said in the release.
