Ongoing projects

1. Corporate Drive Extension

Project: Design work for the project was completed in 2022. Construction is divided into multiple segments that will extend Corporate Drive from Railroad Street to west of Huffines Boulevard and Carrollton Parkway to Old Denton Road.

Update: The Railroad Street portion began in February and construction of the Carrollton Parkway portion began in June. Work on the project includes new roadways, water lines, drainage lines, street lighting and more.

• Cost: $43 million total, $29 million for most recent segment

• Funding source: City of Lewisville, Regional Toll Revenue

2. Main Street Bridge demolition


Project: The project reconstructs the FM 1171 bridge over I-35E, reconstructs 1.3 miles of the main interstate lanes and constructs a new northbound frontage road from Fox Avenue to College Street.

Update: In September, construction crews demolished a portion of the Main Street bridge to allow for the reconstruction, and separated the frontage roads at the intersection of I-35E at FM 1171.

• Timeline: May 2023-June 2026

• Cost: $105 million


• Funding source: City of Lewisville

3. Valley Parkway and Civic Circle Reconstruction

Project: The project will reconstruct both Valley Parkway from Main Street to College Parkway and Civic Circle Street from Main Street to Valley Parkway, both the concrete streets and portions of the existing sidewalks and barrier-free ramps. Crews will install roughly 3,400 linear feet of new 8-inch water lines as well as drainage lines, sewer lines and pedestrian lighting.

Update: On Oct. 18, the city conducted a traffic switch, moving all of the traffic on Valley Parkway over to the southbound side of Valley Parkway. The traffic will remain two-way on the southbound side of Valley Parkway from College Parkway almost to Main Street.

• Funding source: City of Lewisville bond program, American Rescue Plan Act grant

4. Woodhurst Drive reconstruction


Project: The project consists of pavement reconstruction, utility and sewer upgrades, sidewalk improvements and drainage improvements.

Update: The project is under construction and is expected to move toward completion this winter.

• Timeline: January 2024-December 2024

• Cost: $5 million

• Funding source: City of Coppell

Upcoming Projects

5. Royal Lane reconstruction

Project: The project consists of pavement reconstruction, utility upgrades, and sidewalk improvements. A design contract for the reconstruction of Royal Lane was awarded to Teague, Nall & Perkins in the spring of 2022 in the amount of $1,403,000.

Update: Design for the project is wrapping up and city staff plan to start the bidding process for construction in January, city staff said.

• Cost: $24 million

• Funding source: City of Coppell

6. Bullock Drive and Howell Drive reconstruction

Project: The existing asphalt roadways with bar ditch drainage will be replaced with new concrete pavement with curb and gutter drainage, as well as expanded cul-de-sac turn-arounds to improve access for emergency services. The project will include water and sewer improvements, as well as the addition of new sidewalks, alley pavement between the two roadways and underground storm drains.

Update: Officials said the project is still in the planning phase, but anticipate going out to bid in January 2025.

• Cost: $3.5 million

• Funding source: City of Coppell sales tax

7. Spanish Moss Drive & Jeb Court reconstruction

Project: The project consists of complete pavement reconstruction, utility upgrades and sidewalk improvements.

Update: Design is wrapping up and construction is slated to begin next year, according to city documents.
