A pedestrian bridge along a Coppell trail is undergoing maintenance.

Work crews began replacing the bridge deck for the Denton Creek North Levee Trail on April 2. Construction is expected to last between one and two weeks, according to a construction update from the city.

The overview

The cost of the project is $87,410 and will cover the cost required for installing a new deck on the pedestrian bridge, which accommodates pedestrian and cyclist traffic on the trail. Funding for the project is paid for through the Coppell Recreation Development Corporation Fund, Community Experiences Communications Specialist Presleigh Easton said.

Easton added the lifespan of the new bridge deck is contingent on weather conditions, but city staff will perform necessary maintenance to extend its longevity.
