Corporate Drive extension set to create new thoroughfare in Lewisville
The Corporate Drive extension project In Lewisville took another step forward in 2024. Lewisville City Council members approved a $43 million contract with Sundt Construction for construction on the project’s second and third segments.
Council members later approved additional construction with the same company in April for the fourth and fifth segments. Construction on those segments started in May and is expected to finish in spring 2027.
Companies continue to bring headquarters to Coppell
Convotherm and Merrychef, two brands under Florida-based kitchen equipment vendor Welbilt Inc., relocated headquarters to Coppell in 2024. The brands are the latest to join a list of nearly 30 other businesses with headquarters in the city.
New rules affect Lewisville short-term rental operators
Lewisville City Council members passed a one-year interim ban on new short-term rentals in February. The ban went into effect March 4. City officials also enacted new regulations for existing short-term rentals.
The interim ban is expected to lift in March 2025, and city staff plan to provide council members with updates in February 2025.

Lewisville City Council members voted to place four bond propositions totaling $263.4 million on the May 4 election ballot. The propositions aim to address citywide infrastructure needs, including at The Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center.

Tax rate election asks Coppell ISD voters to help generate $2.4M
Coppell ISD’s board of trustees called for a voter-approval tax rate election to be placed on the Nov. 5 election ballot. The VATRE would have generated $2.4 million in revenue for staff recruitment and retention efforts.
