William J. Meridith won another term on the Lewisville City Council.

During the runoff election for Place 2, the incumbent held off a challenge from Penny Mallet, when unofficial election results were announced June 15.

The details

According to the Denton County Election Administration, Meridith won with 866 votes, or 52.11%. Mallet garnered 796 votes, or 47.89%. No votes for either were cast in Dallas County, according to unofficial election results.

During the general election on May 2, Mallet received 1,980 votes, for 41.52%, while Meridith got 1,753 votes, for 36.76%.


Meridith is currently the Mayor Pro Tem on the Lewisville council.

Meridith has served on the Lewisville City Council since 2021. He has previously served as the vice chair of the city's planning and zoning commission, as well as the chair of the transportation board.
