Ranna Raval and incumbent David Caviness continue to lead their respective races for the Coppell ISD board of trustees, per unofficial voting data from Denton and Dallas counties.

Raval is leading Sami Patel and Jonathan Powers in the race for Place 4 with 40.27% of the votes, or 2,360. Powers has 38.16% of the votes, or 2,236, and Patel has 21.57%, or 1,264 votes.

For Place 5, Caviness leads Julie Waters with 54.43% of the vote. He has 3,280 votes while Waters has 2,746.

Ranna Raval and incumbent David Caviness continue to lead the Coppell ISD board of trustees Place 4 and Place 5 races, respectively.

For Place 4, Raval is ahead of Samit Patel and Jonathan Powers with 40.29% of the vote. Raval has 2,360 votes; Powers has 2,235 and Patel has 1,263. Powers has 38.15% of the vote while Patel has 21.56% of the vote.

Caviness leads Julie Waters in the Place 5 race with 54.45% of the vote. He has 3,280 votes while Waters has 2,744.

Early voting results show Ranna Raval and incumbent David Caviness are leading the Coppell ISD board of trustees Place 4 and Place 5 races, respectively.

For Place 4, Raval is ahead of Samit Patel and Jonathan Powers with 41.27% of the vote. Raval has 1,612 votes; Powers has 1,500 and Patel has 794.

Caviness leads Julie Waters in the Place 5 race with 57.56% of the vote. He has 2,304 votes while Waters has 1,699.

Board seats are three-year terms.


Six total candidates are on the ballot. Jobby Mathew is running unopposed for Place 7, which is a one-year unexpired term. Mathew was sworn in to serve as the Place 7 representative during a Nov. 14 special meeting. Place 7 will be up for election for its full three-year term in 2024.
