Gilmore’s Scoops is planned to open in the new Deck on Main building being developed by Knack Development, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. TJ and Tanya Gilmore, his wife, are opening the business together and plan to serve ice cream produced by Denton-based Beth Marie’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream.
The timeline is subject to change depending on when the building is delivered but the ice cream parlor could open later this spring, Gilmore said.
“We want to create a space and a business where we can give back to the community in ways that are different from just me being the mayor,” he said.
