Italian restaurant Luigi’s is now open in Coppell, manager Elvis Begaj said.

The restaurant is a family operation with Begaj’s father as the owner and his mother crafting the desserts, Begaj said. The family originally opened a location in Denton off University Drive in 1999 when Begaj was still a child, but closed down. In 2024, the family came full circle and opened Luigi’s in Coppell, taking a space previously occupied by Smashburger, Begaj said.

The menu boasts a variety of appetizers and salads from bruschetta, a grilled bread topped with cherry tomatoes, italian herbs, garlic, basil and parmigiana reggiano; to antipasti with mixed greens, cheeses, walnuts, tomatoes drizzled with oil and vinegar dressing. The restaurant also serves a selection of seafood, homemade pasta, chicken dishes and a steak dinner.

Some of the more popular items have been the chicken diavolo, a grilled chicken breast with vodka sauce, calabrian peppers, cremini mushrooms over a bed of spaghetti and the chicken piccata with lemon butter sauce and capers, Begaj said.

Customers can also enjoy a spectrum of wines, Italian desserts like Limoncello cake and more.
