Dutch Bros Coffee will bring a second drive-thru location to Lewisville.

During Lewisville City Council's May 6 meeting, alternative standards were approved for the new location. The shop offers a number of caffeinated drinks including coffee, iced tea, lemonade and more.

Dutch Bros first opened in 1992 and now has locations across 17 states, according to its website.

The details

The Planning and Zoning Commission passed the changes April 2 before going to council for final passage.

The changes included:
  • Replacing one required parking lot landscaping island with a central landscaped green area containing shrubs and three canopy trees
  • Providing enhanced pedestrian amenities and an elongated canopy in lieu of requiring the longest side of the building to be oriented towards the roadway
  • Reduce the required 40% ground floor window requirement to 10.4%
The building will be 950 square feet with a walk-up window and drive-thru with parking for up to 24 vehicles, according to city documents. The other Dutch Bros Coffee is located at 815 W. Main St.
