Phillips has more than 20 years of municipal human resources experience, according to a Jan. 4 press release. He previously served as the human resources and organizational development director for Georgetown, where he led the areas of human resources, safety and risk management, and organizational development.
“The director of human resources is one of the most important positions in any organization. We have taken our time, more than six months, to ensure we were hiring the right fit for our culture,” City Manager Claire Powell said in a news release. “We wanted to find someone who was going to care about our employees, help them grow and hold them to the highest level of expectation. Tadd is our guy.”
Phillips earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas and a master of business administration from The University of North Texas. He previously served as president of the Texas Municipal Human Resources Association and the Texas Public Employer Labor Relations Association.
Phillips will start his new role on Jan. 23.
“Lewisville has a strong track record of professional management and organizational leadership,” Phillips said in a press release. “I’m excited about the people, the great city staff, the human resources team and city management.”
