A construction project has been filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for the addition of six new gas pumps at the Lewisville Costco.

The project is scheduled to begin January 2025 with a completion date in June of that year, according to the filing. However, company staff did not confirm the timeline.

The Lewisville City Council approved a special-use permit for the project during a Dec. 4 meeting.

The additional pumps will remove 25 parking stalls, leaving Costco with 746 spots. The project will expand the 17.5-foot canopy, replace existing lights with upgraded LED lighting and add the new gas dispensers. Landscaping work will also be done with the addition of shrubbery around the fueling station, according to documents.

The gas station has been in operation since 2004. The addition will help alleviate wait times for customers, according to permit filing from Barghausen Consulting Engineers, who represents Costco on the project.
